This is often a standalone job. If the whole bathroom is dated, though, it's usually cheaper to do the wet work once rather than come back to it later.

What the job involves behind the tiles

A shower or bath that leaks, drains slowly or feels cramped usually has a problem you can't see: failed waterproofing, a poor fall to the drain, or plumbing that was never set out well. We treat those first. Waterproofing is carried out by a registered waterproofer and plumbing by a licensed plumber, so the wet parts of the room meet standard. The tiling and set-out are where the workmanship shows: even falls, straight lines, and a screen or bath that sits square.

What suits your bathroom depends on how you use it:

  • A walk-in or frameless shower where an old tub is no longer used
  • A freestanding or built-in bath where there's room and appetite for one
  • Keeping both, in a layout that stops the shower soaking the rest of the room

Yes, that's one of the more common jobs we do, especially where a tub no longer gets used.

A registered waterproofer. Plumbing is done by a licensed plumber. Those are the parts of the job that have to meet standard.
